Professor of Hepatology
Mark R. Thursz is Head of the Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction at Imperial College and Director of the Imperial Biomedical Research Centre at Imperial College Healthcare. He is Professor of Hepatology at Imperial College London, and Honorary Consultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust. He is a Board Member of the St Mary’s Development Trust, a member of the Imperial College Healthcare Charity Grants Committee, and a WHO Global Hepatitis Team Advisor. Mark is also a Trust Director of the Research. He founded and co-leads to PROLIFICA group identifying strategies to reduce the burden of cirrhosis and liver cancer in Africa by controlling viral hepatitis infection.
